The only weight loss program / diet that ever really worked for me is Atkins. Too many research papers and reports have come out in support of the low carb lifestyle and have just been ignored. Wake up and smell the roses. The health experts themselves don't want to believe what is right before their eyes. Just beware - you have to exercise a little bit to get that metabolism moving again!

I've been on a low carb diet for six months now. Sure initially I lost weight quite fast, 6kgs in two months, but since then I have really been struggling - with a total weight loss to date of only 8kgs. I am sick to death of bacon and eggs and just don't want more meat. Could be that I have kept the carb intake too low for too long. I'll try to increase my carb intake to be around 30% of my total calorie intake and see how that works. It will still be regarded as a lower GI diet, and may just relieve the boredom for me. If all else fails I am going to try the low fat diet with Alli.

I knew it. I am just so mad! I have always been conscious of my eating habits - always trying to be healthy and to keep my weight manageable. All the doctors and nutritionists kept on telling me to eat low fat, but when I did - I never lost weight. Yet each time when I try the low carb approach I lose weight, but then everyone tell me it is an unhealthy way to lose weight! Thanks for this article - go Atkins!
