I am really tempted to try this. After three years of being bulimic off and on, I stopped for two years now and I've gained a lot of weight back. I started excercising and eating healthy, I've notice my legs getting a bit slimer, stomach flatter and arms tighter, but tonight my friend tells me about this neera diet and I'm so tempted to purchase it. I don't know. After reading these reviews, I am a bit scared of what it will do to my body because I know being bulimic did enough damage. So, I think I should stick to my excercise and diet because I want it to be a lifestyle, not a one time thing.

Agree 100%. I am a registered dietitian and I find it amazing how many of my clients actually went on these detox diets and then can't understand how they got to be so overweight. But a few hours of surfing the internet later I know why. The marketing for all these detox products, e.g. the Lemon Detox Diet or the 48hr Rapid Detox Diet is just phenomenal. Not to talk about the TV adverts! Should be more websites like this one that provide useful and helpful information.

The diet is a complete scam. Extend use of the diet may stop the weight coming back for a while. But that is only because you've stopped eating for so long your stomach shrinks and your slowed metabolism suppresses your appetite. However depending on the person you may be back to old habits and stacking the weight on in 2 months time again. As for myself by metabolism is now shot so I can only eat 1 meal a day. Sure I'm a bit thinner but I'm below the recommended daily food intake and I'm struggling to ensure I'm getting enough vitamins and minerals. Am currently trying to raise my metabolism so I can force myself to eat more even if I'm not hungry. After all I would be back to square one again. It is proving difficult with such low energy levels and I'm only 23.

Kim - been there done that. Do not even consider this as a kick-off to a healthy lifestyle. It will set you up with a slow metabolism which is quite the opposite of what you want to achieve. These diets may work when you are in your early 20's as long as you keep on doing it, but you ejnd up with a metabolism so damaged in your late 20s that it will take you years to get back to where you were. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to stick to a healthy diet and to get moving. Lean muscle mass speeds up your metabolism and allow you to enjoy your healthy food and perform at your best. on these diets you will eat less and less just to maintain and end up overweight, unhappy and tired. Make the right choice now. Believe me, if I could do it all again, I would manage my weight very differently.

I have been on the lemon fast for 2 days now and I have already lost 4lbs. I have 3 more days to go. Once I complete the fast, I will continue to exercise and eat healthier. I have faith in the lemonade fast, atleast as a kick off to a healthier lifestyle!

Nice article. I think the marketers of this diet should be given a gold medal.
They have tricked a lot of people and have made a lot of money.
I have no doubt the diet works. And so does starvation.
Its just that it is unhealthy (and in some instances dangerous)
and mis-leading in many respects.

Great article! Fad diets like the lemon diet are so popular because people are looking for quick easy ways to lose weight. Although you might lose the weight you'll end up gaining it back plus more once you get off the diet. The healthiest way to lose weight might not always be the fastest or easiest way but in the long run it'll be worth it.
